Last week, Fork Union Military Academy (Fork Union, Va.) wide receiver Ja’Quay Williams decommitted from Auburn after taking an official visit to Georgia, prompting most analysts to wonder if Williams, who is ranked No. 14 among wide receivers in the Rivals250, was a Georgia lean.

But on Sunday, Williams picked Texas A&M.

“Coach (Kevin Sumlin), his staff and the A&M program is where I need to be and where I am now committed 110 percent,” Williams said in a statement. “I indicated so tonight! I have officially committed to Texas A&M.”

Elite seventh grader has big game on varsity

Christian Faith Center (Creedmoor, N.C.) point guard Damon Harge scored 40 points in a win over Kestrel Heights (N.C.) on Nov. 29.

Harge, just a seventh grader, starts for the Conquerors varsity team and is widely regarded as one of the top players in his class.

Botley trying to carry load for Prestonwood

Prestonwood Christian (Plano, Texas) point guard Marquan Botley never imagined he’d be without two of the Lions' best players this season. Mickey Mitchell, a sophomore who is considered one of the top players in his class, went down late in the football season with a torn ACL and will miss the entire season. Julius Randle, a senior who is ranked No. 2 in the Rivals150, fractured his right foot recently and will miss three months.

In his first game without either of his highly ranked teammates on Nov. 30, Botley scored 30 points in an 82-65 loss to Wilson (Dallas).

“Marquan has done well,” Prestonwood Christian coach Chris Mayberry said. “We’re hanging in there.”

Clark celebrates announcement with big game

Just hours after Douglas (Oklahoma City) point guard Stephen Clark announced that he would play basketball at Oklahoma State next season, he cranked out 50 points in a 93-57 win over John Marshall (Oklahoma City) on Nov. 30.

Clark scored 37 points earlier in the week in a 92-50 win over Grant (Oklahoma City, Okla.).
