Two of the state's top football recruits -- both from Sumner County -- will square off on ESPN2 when Beech and Station Camp open their season at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 25.
Beech has running back Jalen Hurd, a Tennessee commitment. Station Camp has receiver Josh Malone, who has more than 30 offers, including nine SEC schools.
The game is one of 13 that comprise the fourth annual ESPN High School Football Kickoff Series.
Ensworth also will participate in the series, traveling to Kentucky power Trinity for a game that will be shown on ESPNU at 7 p.m. on Aug. 23.
"We're excited that it's going to happen," said Beech coach Anthony Crabtree, whose team went 15-0 -- including a 41-7 win over Station Camp -- and won its second Class 5A title in four years last fall. "It's good exposure for the school and the community."
Hurd (6-3, 230) rushed for a state single-season record 3,357 yards and scored 43 touchdowns for the Buccaneers. Malone (6-3, 187) caught 28 passes for 408 yards and five touchdowns as a junior as Station Camp went 5-6.
The two players are ranked first and second on Rivals.com's listing of Tennessee's top 2014 prospects. Hurd is ranked 19th nationally, Malone 38th, by Rivals.
Station Camp coach Shaun Hollinsworth was not available for comment.
Ensworth was on ESPNU twice last season, winning 62-14 at Lexington (Ky.) Catholic and 20-0 against Brentwood Academy.
