Centennial was on the brink of elimination twice on Thursday, but the Cougars found a way to play another day.
Kyle Brennan scored on a wild pitch by David Elliott in the eighth inning for a 5-4 win over Ravenwood in the District 11-AAA tournament.
The Cougars (27-9) will face Ravenwood (20-12) in a second championship game at 6:30 p.m. today at Franklin. Only the winner will advance to next week's region tournament.
Centennial beat Brentwood 4-3 earlier Thursday in eight innings.
"I wish I knew what to say ... the kids just don't want to leave," Centennial coach Rob Baughman said after consecutive come-from-behind wins.
Ravenwood's Luke Yates had a no-hitter through 51/3 innings and what seemed to be a comfortable 4-0 lead in the bottom of the sixth when the Cougars' bats came alive.
"When (Yates) missed his spots our kids didn't miss," Baughman said. "I really wasn't sure we were going to get a hit at all."
After a single by Bobby Wisnewski broke up the no-hitter, the next five Centennial batters reached base in a four-run inning that was highlighted by RBI doubles from Kyle Brennan and Deon Sanders.
Tyler Bozeman picked up his second victory of the day with two scoreless innings of relief.
Zack Moore and Ryan Sabo had three hits each for Ravenwood.
Clay Staton's two-out RBI double scored Billy Lowe for the winning run in the victory over Brentwood. The Bruins (27-15) still advance to the region tournament because they won the regular-season title.
CPA 7, Lipscomb Acad. 1: Andrew Knell had a RBI triple for CPA in the 10-AA championship.
Riverdale 8, Oakland 6: Trevor Sutton's two-run home run broke a tie in the sixth in the 7-AAA championship.
Mt. Juliet 6, Beech 2: Hunter Gilbert drove in two runs for Mt. Juliet in the 9-AAA championship.
