Quote: "I started out the season pretty well, but in the middle of the season, I felt like I was cruising a little bit. (Former Brentwood Academy wrestler) Jason Jarrett came back and saw I was out of shape, wasn't wrestling like I needed to, and he came in to practice and brought some guys with him and they got me back where I needed to be. I finished up pretty strong."
Family: Mother April, sister Aliyyah, 7.
What's on your iPod? "I listen to all kinds of music -- rap, a little bit of country, a tad bit of rock. But mostly rap and R&B."
Best high school sports moment: "Winning the (215-pound) championship my sophomore year. I was predicted to lose to Baylor's John Mackey because he was the previous state champion."
Favorite athlete: "Ray Lewis. He never gives up -- especially after he tore his tricep this year and was supposed to be out for the rest of the year. Coming back for the last two or three games, that was pretty impressive."
Favorite food: "Sushi"
Least favorite part of practice: "Running during warmups."

Quote: "It really just boils down to all the offseason work we've done. Last year, we did as well as we did starting five freshmen and four sophomores, so you assume that as they get older, they'll keep producing. We thought we'd move forward. We've got some talented kids that are working hard and having a lot of success."
