BOYS BOWLER OF THE YEAR

KAMRON DOYLE, Brentwood, Fr.

Why chosen: He won the Division I tournament with a record 3,293 total pinfall. He averaged 239.17 during the season.

College plans: "I'm looking at Wichita State. A really good school for bowling right now is Robert Morris in Illinois. And there's a couple of others in Florida like Webber. Robert Morris and Wichita State want me to come visit, so I'll probably do that soon."

Quote: "It was really cool to win state as a freshman. Only a couple of people have done it in state history. It's a big accomplishment of mine."

Family: Parents Sean and Cathy, sister, Kendall, 9. Pet dogs, Oscar and Otis, both cavapoos.

What's on your iPod?: "Basically, everything. Bon Jovi, Poison, Daughtry."

Best high school sports moment: "Definitely winning state."

Favorite athlete: "I like Tiger Woods a lot just because he's real competitive, and he doesn't like anything less than a win."

Favorite food: "Steak, chicken, noodles."

Least favorite part of practice: "I take it as an opportunity to get better every time, so there's nothing I hate about it."

On Twitter: @kamrondoyle

Athletic background: "I used to play basketball, a little bit of football, soccer, baseball, and then bowling came and it was all bowling from there."

How did you spend spring break? "This is the first year we're not really doing much, so I guess we'll just hang out and relax. This year we were going to go to Universal in Florida, but everything was booked so we couldn't get anything arranged in time so we just decided to stay here."
