AHSAA roundup: Parker paces Brantley's blowout

BRANTLEY - Andrew Parker returned two punts for touchdowns and had two TD runs in Brantley's 60-0 win over Geneva County.

Parker carried five times for 128 yards with touchdowns of 55 and 10 yards. His punt returns covered 60 and 62 yards.

Quarterback Andrew Lowery was 5-of-6 for 135 yards and two touchdowns for the Bulldogs (6-0, 4-0 Class 1A, Region 2). Lowery threw a 77-yard TD pass to O.J. Guice and a 32-yarder to Clay Haws.

Alabama Christian 53,

Bullock County 26

UNION SPRINGS - Ricky Solar ran for three touchdowns and threw for one for Alabama Christian (3-3, 2-2 Class 4A, Region 2).

Solar ran 10 times for 148 yards with TDs of 5, 2 and 60 yards. He also completed a 32-yard scoring pass to Connor Sarricker.

David Elston, Chandler Taylor and Tanner Roberts chipped-in rushing touchdowns for the Eagles, which led 29-0 at halftime. A 51-yard INT return from Taylor Norman completed the scoring for ACA.

Bullock dropped to 0-6, 0-4 in region play.

St. Jude 49, Wadley 12

WADLEY - Kasai Farris ran for 137 yards and scored four touchdowns for the Pirates (3-3, 3-1 Class 1A, Region 4). He had touchdown runs of 75 and 45 yards along with a seven-yard touchdown reception. He also returned an interception 27 yards for a score.

Tony Minnifield threw to Kendall Richardson for a 99-yard touchdown and hooked up with John Hawkins on a 17-yard score. He added a one-yard rushing score.

New Brockton 20,

Highland Home 14

NEW BROCKTON - Johnny Silas scored on a 22-yard run with 5 minutes left to push the Gamecocks (3-3, 3-1 Class 2A, Region 3) past the Flying Squadron (3-3, 2-2).

Highland Home's Lewis Johnson had a 78-yard TD run with 8 minutes remaining to tie it 14-14. Quindarius Posey scored on an 8-yard run in the second quarter for the Squadron.

Silas finished with three touchdowns. His other two TD runs covered 3 yards each.

Beulah 26, Holtville 24

BEULAH - Hayden Lott ran for 104 yards, including a 5-yard touchdown, for Holtville (0-6, 0-4), which led 24-14 with 4 minutes remaining.

Beulah (4-2, 2-2) recovered a fumble at the Holtville 19 and scored to pull within four points. After an onsides kick, the Bobcats drove 49 yards in 10 plays for the go-ahead touchdown with 42 seconds remaining.

Jaquille Ellis ran eight times for 77 yards with touchdowns of 33 and 15 yards for Holtville. Jarmal Kendrick finished with 67 yards on 14 carries with a 1-yard score.

Carroll-Ozark 38, Marbury 17

OZARK - Darice Allen ran for 191 yards and a touchdown, caught a TD pass and made seven tackles to lead the Eagles (4-2, 3-1 Class 5A, Region 2) over the Bulldogs (1-5, 1-3).

Randolph County 42, Montgomery Academy 20

Grayson Anzalone kicked field goals of 31 and 33 yards for MA (2-4, 1-3 Class 2A, Region 5) against Randolph County (4-2, 3-1). Justin Woolfolk ran for a 6-yard TD and Will Sahlie caught a 4-yard TD pass.

Geneva 39, Catholic 27

Marcus Wilson ran a punt back 85 yards for a touchdown and caught two touchdown pass as the Panthers (2-4, 1-3 Class 3A, Region 2) rolled over the Knights (2-4, 1-3).

Tallassee 41, Ashford 0

ASHFORD - DiJon Paschal ran for two touchdowns to lead the Tigers (5-1, 4-0 Class 4A, Region 2) over the Yellow Jackets (2-4, 1-3). Herman McKenzie and Brandon Baynes also scored for Tallassee.

Trinity 57, Thorsby 6

THORSBY - James Pate grabbed an interception and Zac Walker and Will Holland played well on defense for Trinity (4-2, 3-1 Class 3A, Region 4). Thorsby (1-5, 0-4) scored on the game's first play with a reverse, flea-flicker pass.

Autaugaville 38, Holy Spirit 14

TUSCALOOSA - Dillon Howard ran for 170 yards and four touchdowns for the Eagles (2-4, 1-3 Class 1A, Region 3). He had two TD runs in the fourth quarter, plus a 73-yard pass to Stefan Palmer for Autaugaville's first score.

Luverne 50, Calhoun 8

LUVERNE - Devonte McMeans caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Jamarcus Davison for Calhoun (1-5, 0-4 2A, Region 3). Tyrese Goldsmith also recorded a safety.

Pelham 41, Wetumpka 7

PELHAM - Eli Beall ran for two touchdowns to help the Panthers (5-1, 3-1 Class 6A, Region 4) build a 41-0 lead on the Indians (1-5, 0-4).

Keith 33, Billingsley 6

ORRVILLE - Torrey Green ran for a 30-yard touchdown for Billingsley (3-3, 2-2 Class 1A, Region 3) against Keith (6-0, 4-0), which is ranked ninth in 1A.

Zion Chapel 50,

Central-Hayneville 12

MOSSES - T.J. Saffold and Quinn Carter scored for Central (0-6, 0-4 2A, Region 3).
