MINNEAPOLIS - The Eden Prairie football team defeated rival Minnetonka 21-18 in their state quarterfinals matchup.
After trailing the Eagles 7-0 in the second quarter, the Skippers defense came up big forcing a fumble and DeAndre Singleton returned the loose ball 48 yards for a touchdown to tie the game. Eden Prairie answered right back when Grant Schaeffer connected with Bjorn Halvorson for a 10-yard touchdown. Minnetonka had a chance to tie late in the game but the Eagles held on for the victory.
