OSSEO, Minn. - The St. Thomas Academy football team defeated Elk River 30-7 in their state quarterfinals matchup.
The Cadets jumped out to an early lead behind an 11-yard touchdown run by Mario Bognanno. The Cadets added another touchdown run when Pat McFadden broke off a 44-yard score to extend St. Thomas Academy's lead. After the Elks scored to cut the lead, the Cadets responded right back. Danny McManus added a 29-yard score; McFadden added two more touchdown and Bognanno scored another short touchdown to help lead St. Thomas Academy to victory.
