MINNETONKA, Minn. - The Becker football team defeated DeLaSalle 21-14 in their state quarterfinals matchup.
In the Class 4A showdown, Becker looked to knock off top-seeded, and undefeated, DeLaSalle in the state quarterfinal matchup at Hopkins High School. Becker took the lead when quarterback Tommy Benson connected with Austen Soare for a touchdown. Bobby Lee ran in for a short touchdown to extend Becker's lead.
DeLaSalle quarterback Reid Travis scored on a keeper but the Becker defense contained the high-powered Islanders offense. Becker held on to advance to the next round of the state tournament.
