South St. Paul 17, Mahtomedi 7

MAHTOMEDI, Minn. - There are a lot of teams near the top of the Classic Suburban Conference. Two of them, South St. Paul and Mahtomedi, played each other on Friday night.

This was a good defensive battle for most of the game.

The Packers did all of their damage in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and led 17-0 after 3. The Zephyrs tried to get something going in the 4th quarter. And while they did score once, it just wasn't enough as South St. Paul won 17-7.

South St. Paul stays perfect, moving to 4-0 this year, while Mahtomedi falls to 2-2.
