Section 5-6A: Maple Grove 39, Coon Rapids 14

MAPLE GROVE, Minn. - The Maple Grove Crimson football team defeated Coon Rapids 39-14 to advance to the next round of the section tournament.

The Crimson took control of the game in the second quarter, knocking the Cardinals off their game plan. After forcing a turnover deep inside Cardinals territory, Maple Grove added to their lead when Blake Skaja connected with Brycen Wojta for a ten yard touchdown.

The Crimson opened the game up later on when Tyler Field took a screen pass 70 yards down the field. Jake Wallick finished off the drive with a ten yard touchdown run to give the Crimson a 20-0 lead. Maple Grove advances to the next round with the 39-14 win.
