MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnetonka girls' hockey team pulled off an upset over Benilde St. Margaret's 3-2 to advance to the state tournament.
It was a battle of the top two teams in the state as the Red Knights and Skippers fought to be the winner of the section 6-2A final. The Red Knights took a 1-0 lead heading into the third period and added to it early on when Caitlan Reilly scored on a rebound to give the Red Knights a two goal lead.
The Skippers answered right back when Hannah Behounek tipped the puck in from in front of the net to cut the lead to 2-1. Minnetonka scored three unanswered goals late in the game to pull off the 3-2 upset.
