Girls hockey: Breck 9, St. Louis Park 1

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - The Breck girls' hockey team defeated St. Louis Park 9-1 in the opening round of the section playoffs.

The Mustangs blew the game open in the first period, jumping on the Orioles early on. Team captain Kate Schipper scored the opening goal of the game and the Mustangs took over after that. Natalie Roberts scored on a rebound to give Breck a three goal lead in the first period. The Mustangs held on to beat the Orioles 9-1.
