EDINA, Minn. - The Lake Conference is loaded with some of the best teams in the state. And now that conference play is underway, those teams will be playing some great games.
One of the first epic games was on Friday night as Edina hosted Minnetonka.
These two teams traded shots in the first 3 quarters, and heading into the final quarter, the Skippers held a 12-10 lead.
But the real fireworks happened in the 4th quarter. The two teams went back and forth and with less than 4 minutes to go, Edina scored to tie the game at 20. It would stay that way through the final few minutes, so they went to overtime.
In OT, there was only one score and it belonged to the Hornets. They scored on an 11 yard touchdown pass and that was the difference as the Hornets beat the Skippers 27-20.
Edina moves to 4-1 on the season, while Minnetonka falls to 3-2.
