MINNEAPOLIS -- New Prague captured the Class-A gymnastics title, posting the meet's high score in three of the four events Friday at the University of Minnesota Sports Pavilion.
The Trojans were led by a record setting performance in the balance beam, topping an eight-year old state record. It's the fourth team title in school history, but first since 2003.
Melrose Area took second behind strong performances from sophomore Lydia Butkowski's 9.45 on the vault and junior Jailyn Brinkman's 9.65 on the floor exercise.
Austin finished in third place posting the meet's high score on floor exercise, 38.175.
