MINNEAPOLIS - The Owatonna football team defeated St. Thomas Academy 30-27 to advance to the Class 5A state final.
St. Thomas Academy took the lead with their defense when Jeremiah Kraker intercepted a pass and returned the pick for a touchdown to give the Cadets the lead. The game changed in the fourth quarter when the Cadets lost a costly fumble deep in their own territory. Owatonna took advantage and scored on a short touchdown run by Luke Wanous. Owatonna completed the comeback and advanced to the state final.
