Lady Presidents fall to Galion

MARION - Galion outscored Marion Harding 16-6 in the fourth quarter to down the Lady Presidents 56-47 Tuesday night in a non-league girls basketball game.

Harding (0-3) led 16-14 after one period, 29-27 at the half and 41-40 entering the final quarter.

Olivia Davis had a big night for the Lady Presidents with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Fallyn Stephens added nine points, and Ashley Davis scored eight.

Bailey Ruhe led Galion with 17 points.

Galion won in JV play 25-19. Zoe Richardson led Harding (1-2) with nine points.

Girls basketball: Danville tops Marion Catholic

MARION - Bri Statts canned 33 points to power Danville past Marion Catholic 69-37 Tuesday night in Marion Catholic's season opener.

Danville held Marion Catholic to only five points in each of the first two quarters to lead 32-10 at the half.

Emily Aurigemma tallied 12 points and hauled in eight rebounds for the Lady Irish. Paxton Flugga added 11 points and 10 rebounds, Mercedes Curren scored seven points, and Haley Parker dished three assists.

Marion Catholic, which outrebounded Danville 35-29, was hurt by 30 turnovers.

Girls basketball: Northmor beats Buckeye Central

GALION Northmor improved to 2-0 with a 38-33 non-conference win over Buckeye Central Tuesday night.

Trailing 14-5 after one period, the Lady Golden Knights (2-0) outscored Buckeye Central (0-1) 33-19 the rest of the game.

Kyndall Williams led Northmor with 14 points and Shelbie Wiseman added seven.

Brooke Karl paced Northmor with 12 points.

Northmor won the JV game 33-21.

Girls Basketball: Cardington drops opener

HOWARD East Knox shot 55 percent from the field and made five 3-pointers in the first half en route to a 51-38 win over Cardington Tuesday night in the Lady Pirates' season opener.

Cardington trailed 35-22 at halftime. Each team scored 16 points in the second half.

Clarisa Lyons was the high scorer for Cardington with 22 points and Kaitlyn Kavanaugh tallied 13.

Jade Burwell and Kali Krownapple led East Knox with 15 points apiece.

Girls basketball: Buckeye Valley rolls by Fairbanks

DELAWARE Buckeye Valley rallied from a one-point deficit after one period to roll past Fairbanks 58-41 Tuesday night in a non-leaguer.

Michaela Linn powered BV with 21 points and Maddie Oberle tallied 15.

Junior high basketball: River Valley-Elgin girls

CALEDONIA - Brittany Ewalt's 12 points led River Valley's eighth grade to a 42-17 win over Elgin on Tuesday.

Morgan Lott added 11 points and Christie Longo tallied 10 for RV. MaKenzee Runda paced Elgin with nine

River Valley's seventh graders won 26-12 as Erica Hyre scored 10 points, Kylie Lang tallied eight and Alexis Mulvaine hit for four.
