MACON, GA - Most people associate summers with relaxation and fun at the pool. That's not the case for one local aquatic group; for them it's all hard work.
Nearly 100 swimmers come out to the North Macon pool for Swim Macon, and they practice six days a week.
Some days the student-athletes meet twice, for morning and afternoon sessions.
"[For] the older kids, this is almost a job for them because they're working on [getting] scholarships," said Coach Lee Stockslager.
Four of the members have received college scholarships.
The Swim Macon participants are preparing for their upcoming meets, including one in St. Petersburg, Florida in early July, state championships at the end of July, and nationals at the first of August.
