8:37 PM, Jul. 11, 2013 EDT

HOUSTON COUNTY - Less than 10 days ago, recent Houston County graduate Brittany Greene had plans to attend Kennesaw State as a walk on for their ASUN basketball program. But a late tryout with Shorter College changed all of those plans.

Thursday afternoon the guard, signed a full scholarship with the Christian school. Greene sports a 3.97 in the classroom and head coach John Roddie says Greene says the 1-2 guard is like a coach on the floor.

Greene adds, "I am excited and I know it's a different kind of level but I am working to get better and prepared for that level. Just don't give up on your dreams, I mean anything can happen. I just thank everyone for support because it wouldn't have happened without them."

Greene was a 2 year starter for Roddie but a 3 year letter winner. She plans to major in criminal justice so she can be a lawyer one day.
