HoCo Bears Ink Two Scholarships

The Houston County boys basketball program celebrated two signings from the Bears senior class this afternoon.

Coach Stephen Walls announced guard Davon Akins is headed to Lake Land College in Illinois.  He is expected to compete for a starting position for a team that is returning their 2 leading scorers and was 19-12 this year. Akins averaged 18.5 points and 6 rebounds per game for the black and silver.

Fellow guard, Andrew Graham is staying closer to home and headed to Gordon State College.  He is also expected to compete for a starting role, at the PG position. The Highlanders were ranked in the top 25 nationally for most of the year and their top player signed with Murray State.

The Bears finished 10-15 on the season.
