One school stands alone in Central Georgia when it comes to the state championship games this weekend. Saturday morning at 11:30 Dooly County will play ECI for a Class A Public championship.
The Bobcats advanced to Atlanta thanks to a blocked kick that they returned for a touchdown against Lincoln County Friday night. Dooly went on to beat the Red Devils 10-7.
Now, all focus is on ECI. The Bulldogs defeated Wilcox County in the semifinals 38-27.
On the way back from Lincoln County, head coach Jimmy Hughes said they talked about their journey to Atlanta.
"We talked about it all the way back," explained Hughes. "These kids have grown up together here in this community and we only have one player that didn't grow up here with them out of our 38 players and they just believe in each other I think."
