Defensive Player of the Week

For the second week in a row, a South-Doyle defensive lineman is the Defensive Player of the Week. Anthony Hamilton claims the honor this week. Dennis Mongon and Wes Raney have also won on the defensive side for the Cherokees.

Hamilton recorded nine tackles and two sacks in South-Doyle's 34-0 win over Seymour. The shutout was the Cherokees' second in a row and fourth of the season.

Offensive Player of the Week

Grace Christian running back Will McKamey is the Offensive Player of the Week. The senior rushed for 250 yards, racked up 125 receiving yards and scored five touchdowns in the Rams win over Midway.

McKamey is headed to Navy next year on a football scholarship and wants to go to med school to become an orthopedic surgeon. He will enjoy Navy's option offense. The Midshipmen rank near the top in the country in rushing attempts.
