The Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame has announced five Athletes of the Year who will be recognized at the 2012 induction banquet.
Softball player Bethany Oglesby of Carter High School, Webb School running back Caleb Blance, Bearden High School's Rebecca Stover in track and field, Farragut baseball's A. J. Simcox and the Webb School's basketball player, Marjorie Butler.
The five all hold college scholarships in their sport; Oglesby to Western Kentucky for softball, Blance to Cumberland in football, Stover to Alabama in track and field, Simcox to the University of Tennessee in baseball and Butler to Georgia for basketball.
