YULEE, Fla. -- Derrick Henry and his Yulee Hornets dominated Kelvin Taylor and the Glades Day Gators 42-6 in front of a standing room only crowd at Yulee High School on Friday night.
This matchup between the state of Florida's all-time leading rusher (Taylor) and the running back with the second most career rushing yards in state history (Henry) was televised live on ESPNU.
Earlier in the day, Henry verbally committed to the University of Alabama. Then on Friday evening, he carried the ball 35 times for 362 yards and 6 touchdowns. The week before, he set a new state record with the most rushing yards (502) in a single game.
This was the 39th game in a row that Henry has rushed for more than one hundred yards. This 39-game streak ties a national record.
Kelvin Taylor finished with 35 carries for 223 yards and a touchdown.
