JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Mandarin High School assistant track & field coach Hope Treece was glad to be a part of the district championship meet on Wednesday afternoon, not just because her girls team was looking to win a 4th district title in a row, but also because it allowed her focus on something else besides her traumatic experience at Monday's Boston Marathon.
The bombs went off not too long after she finished the race. When the explosions happened, Hope was a couple blocks away. She and her family were close enough to the chaos that they are still shaken up by it.
Monday marked the third time that Treece has finished the Boston Marathon, but when asked if she'd consider running it again, she said, "I don't know."
