Prep boys basketball: Valders falls on last-second 3

In a tightly contested battle, the Valders boys basketball team fell to host Wrightstown on Saturday 48-47 on a last-second 3-point shot.

Marc Bauer led the Vikings with 20 points, including a team-high six 3-pointers.

At end of the first quarter, the Vikings held a narrow 17-13 advantage.

The Tigers used a 5-0 run to start the second quarter and took an 18-17 lead before Valders hit another three to answer right back.

A Forrest Fenlon bucket right before the first-half buzzer gave the Vikings a 28-20 lead entering the half.

Valders led by as many as 11 at 36-25 in the third quarter, but Wrightstown battled back to draw even at 41-41 at the end of three.

The Vikings just narrowly missed the upset, coming one possession short in the end.

At Hilbert, the Wolves outscored the Indians 36-16 in the first half and cruised to the win.

Jordan Jones scored 11 of his team-leading 17 points in the first half for Hilbert.

Derek Hlinak had 15 points for Mishicot.

The Jets traveled to the Minnesota and left with the win behind a game-high 20 points from Nick Stelzer.

Chilton 59, Reedsville 55 (OT)

The Panthers overcame a 29-20 halftime deficit to force overtime at 49-49 at the end of regulation but couldn't prevail in the end.

Reedsville (5-9, 3-8 Olympian Conference) outscored Chilton 17-8 in the third quarter to get back in the game.

Brett Dvorachek led the Panthers with 15 points.
