East Kentwood football coach resigns

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WZZM) - After four seasons at East Kentwood, Head Football Coach Greg Hudkins has resigned.

According to the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, Michael Zoerhoff, Hudkins submitted his resignation as he was preparing to start his fifth season. In the press release, Hudkins is quoted as saying, "While I have enjoyed my time as head coach, after starting practice this past week, it became clear to me that I needed to step back and regroup.  Right now, I look forward to concentrating on my teaching, my family, and the start of the school year."

Assistant Coach Jeremy Gasper is serving at Interim Head Coach.  Gasper has been with the team for three years as Assistant Head Coach and oversaw the team's defense.
