The Oakland University basketball roster continues to evolve.
After a weekend where OU added two transfers, the Golden Grizzlies are bringing a point guard into the fold.
Westland John Glenn point guard Nick Daniels committed to OU for the 2013 season.
"I wanted to go there," Daniels said today. "It's a very good fit. They watched me a couple times in my games and evaluated me.... I really didn't care about a bigger school (and waiting.) I wanted the right fit."
Though he hasn't been to Rochester for a game, Daniels (6-foot-1½, 160 pounds) said the offense is appealing to him as OU utilizes a scoring point guard who can also pass in its offense.
After a season where he averaged 18 points, eight assists and six rebounds and was named to the Free Press' All-West team as a junior, he'll play with the Michigan Warriors this summer, working on his right hand and his pull-up jumper, moving forward with no worries this fall about where he'll be for college.
He remembers the Grizzlies playing in the 2010 and 2011 NCAA Tournaments and understands the importance of a winning program.
"That was a big factor," he said. "I see how hard they wanted it."
