Two top-10 nationally ranked prep volleyball teams to play in Dike on Tuesday

Dike-New Hartford's 70-match winning streak is on the line Tuesday. The Wolverines (6-0) have won the past two Class 2-A state volleyball titles. A rare out-of-state foe, St. James Academy of Topeka, Kan., is ranked No. 2 nationally according to Maxpreps.com. Dike-New Hartford is No. 8 nationally. The teams will play at 5 p.m. in Dike. Dike-New Hartford will face Aplington-Parkersburg following the match. St. James (2-0) has won five consecutive Kansas state titles. The team won the Class 5-A title a year ago, preceded by four straight 4-A crowns. Dike-New Hartford went 45-0 last season. The team is led by all-state outside hitter Briana Weber, who is hitting .567. Weber, a junior, said she plans to play at Northern Iowa. Teammate Brooke Morgan is a Wisconsin recruit and Rachel Koop also plans to play at Northern Iowa. BASEBALL: Pleasant Valley pitcher Brock Neuhaus plans to play at Kansas State, according to a press release issued by his high school. Neuhaus, a senior, posted a 5-3 record with an earned-run average of 1.93 last season. He struck out 92 batters in 62 innings. He also considered Iowa, Northern Illinois, Western Illinois and Air Force.
