National Signing Day 2014

WASHINGTON (WUSA 9) -- National Signing Day celebrates the academic and athletic success of high schoolers across the country.

In Virginia, Woodbridge defensive end Da'Shawn Hand, who is ranked by USA Today High School Sports as the number four recruit in the country, confirmed he is sticking with his verbal commitment to play for Alabama. Hand tweeted a sigh of relief Wednesday morning, with the post: "It's all over. Thank god!" along with a picture of a National Letter of Intent packet from Alabama (video in this article is from Hand's November 14, 2013 announcement ceremony at Woodbridge).

In Maryland, Bishop McNamara offensive lineman Damian Prince, announced that he will be playing for the University of Maryland in the fall. After his announcement, Prince said: "I really just came to this decision this morning ... It feels good to finally get it over with and be able to focus on what's really important to me and that's family and playing football. "

In the District, Friendship Collegiate Academy defensive back Jalen Tabor celebrated his commitment to Florida with 18 other teammates who signed letters of intent. Tabor is ranked number 17 in the country by USA Today High School Sports.
