Strong post play and a good opening quarter were the difference for Rosecrans on Tuesday night.
The Bishops raced out to a 12-4 lead after one quarter and used 42-33 edge on the boards to drop visiting River View 58-42 in the East Central Ohio League Gray Division contest.
David Cline led Rosecrans with 18 points in the post, while Tyler Johnston had a double-double of 13 points and 12 rebounds. Adrick Cronin added nine points, including two 3s, and Marc Ritchey had seven points and seven rebounds in the win.
John Rice finished with 13 points and nine boards, and Corey Miller scored 13 points for the Black Bears.
Both teams struggled shooting the ball as the Bishops were 20 of 53 from the field and 5 of 17 on 3s, while the Black Bears were 12 of 48 from the floor and 4 of 20 behind the arc.
Rosecrans reserves won 38-17 as Mason Fisher had 10 points. Tanner Belangia led River View with five points.
