Three area high school student-athletes - John Hay's Maurice O'Field, University School's Sam Bentz and Streetsboro's Jordan Matusik - are currently vying in an online contest to participate in the 2013 American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships as part of the NCAA's men's basketball Final Four weekend in Atlanta, Ga.

The winner of each online contest - as determined by six rounds of online voting - will earn the final roster spot in the corresponding competition. The 2013 American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships will air live on CBS on April 6 at 2 p.m.

O'Field,  a 6-foot-4 senior, has already advanced to the round of 16 in the slam dunk competition while Bentz, a 6-foot-5 senior, and Matusik, a 6-foot-1 senior, have achieved the same success in the voting to participate in the 3-point contest.

Bentz and Matusik are on different sides of the 3-point bracket, so with the help of all Northeast Ohio prep sports fans, it is possible that the two locals could  end up battling for votes in the final round to decide who gets to compete in Atlanta.

Fans can vote once a day for each student-athlete at http://highschoolslam.com/highschool/canvas. Each week, the remaining field of contestants gets cut in half. The winners of each online competition will be announced on March 20.
