Roundup: Oxford tops Provine; South Panola whips Jim Hill

OXFORD - Courtland Barnes scored two touchdowns as Oxford beat Provine 27-14 Friday night in the Class 5A playoffs.

Barnes' TD runs were 1 and 5 yards for the Chargers (11-1), ranked No. 10 in the Super 10.

Collin Le added a 15-yard TD run and Cody Mills kicked field goals of 20 and 28 yards for Oxford. Dejuan Ellis threw TD passes of 52 and 10 yards to Joshua Bates for the Rams (6-6).

South Panola 42, Jim Hill 7

BATESVILLE - Rip Kirk completed 15 of 23 passes for 240 yards and four touchdowns as the Tigers (10-2), ranked No. 4 in the Super 10, beat the Tigers (6-6) in the Class 6A playoffs.

Kirk's TD passes were 34 and 27 yards to DeAndre Harris, 13 yards to C.J. Leland and 1 yard to Tyler Beard.

Harris had five catches for 104 yards. Marjarvus McGee had a 2-yard TD run for Jim Hill.

Olive Branch 53, Warren Central 21

OLIVE BRANCH - Sam Craft accounted for six touchdowns as the defending Class 6A state champion Conquistadors (11-1), ranked No. 5 in the Super 10, beat the Vikings (6-6) in the 6A playoffs.

Craft scored on a 2-yard run, threw TD passes of 72 yards to Dontrell Nelson, 15 yards to Jap Payne and 33 yards to Malik Mayweather and caught TD passes of 36 and 50 yards from Josh Cooley.

West Point 38, Canton 0

WEST POINT - Tez Lane accounted for three touchdowns as the Green Wave (10-2), ranked No. 6 in the Super 10, beat the Tigers (5-7) in the Class 5A playoffs.

Lane scored on runs of 34 and 52 yards and threw a 31-yard TD pass to Peair Howard. Ladarius Patterson scored on a fumble recovery in the end zone for West Point.

Clinton 31, Southaven 7

CLINTON - Cale Luke rushed for 171 yards on 24 carries and scored two touchdowns as the Arrows (7-5) beat the Chargers (8-4) in the Class 6A playoffs.

Luke's TD runs were 18 and 70 yards. Demarcus Harried rushed for 91 yards on 19 carries and had a 17-yard TD run for Clinton.

Wayne County 29, Moss Point 7

WAYNESBORO - Greg Miller rushed for 132 yards on 23 carries and scored two touchdowns as the War Eagles (10-2), ranked No. 5 in Class 5A, beat the Tigers (5-6) in the 5A playoffs.

Miller's TD runs were 14 and 18 yards. Thomas Nettles had a 6-yard TD run for Moss Point.

Starkville 45, Saltillo 7

STARKVILLE - Dandy Dozen quarterback Gabe Myles accounted for 244 total yards and three touchdowns as the Yellowjackets (9-3) beat the Tigers (7-5) in the Class 5A playoffs.

Myles scored on a 45-yard run and threw TD passes of 17 and 75 yards to Stanley Higgins (four catches, 132 yards).

Preston Baker rushed for 141 yards and had TD runs of 5 and 24 yards for Starkville.

West Marion 50, McLaurin 9

FOXWORTH - Cleve Lewis rushed for 83 yards on seven carries and scored three touchdowns as the Trojans (12-0), ranked No. 4 in Class 3A, beat the Tigers (10-3) in the 3A playoffs.

Joseph Satcher had an 11-yard TD run for McLaurin.

Pelahatchie 51, Cathedral 40

PELAHATCHIE - Cortez Ousley scored four touchdowns as the Chiefs (10-2), ranked No. 5 in Class 1A, beat the Green Wave (7-4) in the 1A playoffs.

Ousley's TD runs were 5, 7, 1 and 27 yards.

Keldrick Sullivan added TD runs of 64, 21 and 44 yards for Pelahatchie.

Thomas Garrity threw six TD passes for Cathedral.

Simpson 21,

Trinity 14

MENDENHALL - Chris Sullivan accounted for two touchdowns as the defending Academy AA champion Cougars (10-2), top-ranked in Academy AA, beat the Saints (8-5) in the Academy AA playoffs.

Sullivan threw a 25-yard TD pass to Andrew Berry and caught an 8-yard TD pass from Josh Hankins.

Patrick Benton scored on a 40-yard fumble return for Simpson.

Tanner Cage had TD runs of 3 and 25 yards for Trinity Episcopal.

Tri-County 41, Winona Christian 6

FLORA - Trey Bozeman accounted for three touchdowns as the defending Academy A champion Rebels (12-0), top-ranked in Academy A, beat the Stars (7-6) in the Academy A playoffs.

Bozeman scored on runs of 22 and 9 yards and threw a 23-yard TD pass to Ryan Cothern.

Cothern also had a 72-yard TD run and Tanner Malone scored on a 10-yard blocked punt return for Tri-County.
