BUFFALO, N.Y.- Randolph runs for 377 yards, including 252 from Jordan Dowiaz, as the Cardinals beat the Avon Braves 34-14 in the Class D Far West Regional.
Randolph jumped out to a 27-0 lead in the first half behind stout defensive pressure and an effective run game.
Dowiaz rushed 27 times for 252 yards and two touchdowns, including a 73-yard TD run in the second quarter. Cardinals quarterback Mitch Maycock only threw the ball three times (1-3, 18 yards, INT), but he didn't need to do much as his backfield took care of business.
Avon tried to climb back in the game in the second half, but quarterback TJ Crye (15-32, 239 yards, INT) and the Braves offense was stymied by Cody Oldro and the Cardinals defense. Randolph forced two turnovers and held the Braves to 60 yards rushing.
Randolph moves on to the state semi-finals to play Tioga from Section 4 at Sahlens Stadium in Rochester next weekend.
