BUFFALO, N.Y. -In her senior year Tori Nappo won a state championship with her Clarence team. Now she's been honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.
Nappo, who has signed to play at Canisius College was named to the 2012 Louisville Slugger/NFCA High School All-East Regional First-TEam.
She is one of 159 student-athletes from 92 high schools spanning 28 states to earn the honor.
Nappo homered in the New York State Class AA championship game, a 3-1 win over Cicero. She also homered in the semifinals, a 9-5 win over MacArthur High School.
At Canisius Tori will join her sister Valorie who is entering her junior year.
All players who were selected to one of the five first teams in their respective regions (East, North, South Central, South and West) are now eligible to be named as either a 2012 NFCA First-Team, Second-Team or Honorable Mention High School All-American. The 2012 NFCA High School All-American teams will be announced Tuesday, June 26 on the NFCA's official website, NFCA.org.
