Finalists for the Fitzpatrick award named

(NEWS CENTER)-- The list of 12 semi-finalists for the Fitzpatrick Trophy award has been narrowed down to three. NEWS CENTER has confirmed that Louis DiTomasso, Jordan Hersom, and Spencer Cooke are the final three.

Cooke, who played for the now two time defending state champion Stags, rushed for 1,091 yards and scored 20 touchdowns this season. He broke a bone in his leg in the eighth game of the season and missed the Western Maine playoffs before making a brief appearance in the state title game.

DiTomasso, from Wells high school, gained 1,350 yards and scored 19 touchdowns. He also had 119 tackles as the Warriors captured their first class 'B' state title since 1997.

And Hersom, from Leavitt high school, threw for 1,630 yards and 16 touchdowns to spark Leavitt to a third straight Eastern Maine class 'B' title.

The winner of the Fitzy will be announced on January 15th.
