Dunwoody cancer survivor to sign with Centre College

DUNWOODY, Ga. -- Football players all over Georgia will sign national letters of intent Wednesday to play football on the collegiate level.

Dunwoody High School senior and cancer survivor Steven Camara doubles as a lacrosse player and also plans to sign his letter of intent.

During his sickness, Camara lost months of football playing time.

"In my 9th and 10th grade years because I was on chemotherapy really hard sometimes it would be like weeks, I just lost it," Camara said.

Despite his sickness, Camara was cleared to play football his senior season at Dunwoody High School.

"Maybe God wants me to do something else, but at other points I was like, no, I want to be that guy that pushes himself and doesn't let anything get in his way."

Coaches say Camera has been an inspiration to his teammates and to the entire school.

He plans to play football at Centre College in Danville, Kentucky.
