The Columbia Eagles and Lady Eagles went to Stone Mountain and came a way with a sweep in the Region 6-AAAA tussle between DeKalb County schools.
Senior point guard Tahj Shamsid-Deen led four Eagles in double figures with a game high 27 points to lead Columbia (7-1) to a 79-56 victory over the Pirates (2-4) in boys' action.
The Pirates closed an early eight-point deficit to four at the end of the first quarter as Sammy Johnson hit a three-pointer and a layup to cut the Eagle lead to 17-13 heading into the second quarter.
Shamsid-Deen hit for eight of his 14 first half points in the second quarter to help the Eagles pull away to a 32-22 halftime advantage.
Kyle Wallace, who hit for 13 points in the game, had a pair of three-pointers and another short jumper in the third quarter as he and Shamsid-Deen both hit for eight points to expand the lead to 57-38 by the end of the period.
Kiair Couch hit for 12 points and Deshon Cooper added a double-double with
10 points and 10 rebounds to join Shamsid-Deen and Wallace in double figures for the Eagles.
Jahmari Etienne led the Pirates with 24 points and Johnson added 15 while both contributed six rebounds for Stone Mountain.

Columbia's Miah Spencer hit for 15 of her game-high 28 points in the first half as the Lady Eagles (5-0) jumped out to a 32-10 lead and never looked back in the 73-30 win over the Lady Pirates (1-7).
Spencer had three steals for baskets in the first half including two as she hit for nine first quarter points as Columbia got out to an 18-6 advantage. She then hit for four quick points to start a 10-0 run for the Lady Eagles in the second quarter.
Shaundrika Mann added a double-double for Columbia with 13 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.
Danielle Clark hit for 10 points to lead Stone Mountain.
