Sophomore place kicker Santino Jerke moved into a tie for the fifth longest field goal in DeKalb County Schools' history with his 52-yard kick in a 16-14 win over Hapeville Charter last Friday night.
Jerke moves into a tie with Ron Rice of Lithonia (1979), Redan's Kevin Butler (1979, 1980), Redan's Chris Gardocki (1985, twice) and Stone Mountain's Kanon Parkman (1990) with 52-yard field goals to their credit.
The kick moves Jerke into first place all-time at Clarkston surpassing a long of 47 yards by Tim Hardaway in 1994.
Gardocki (1987) and Parkman (1990) are tied for the longest field goal for a DeKalb school at 57 yards.
Dunwoody's Austin Copper is in second with a distance of 56 yards (1996) and Rice is third with a long of 54 yards.
The fourth place group all hit from 53 yards including Gardocki (1987), David Moffett of Redan (1981, 1982) and Jon Harper of Tucker (1993).
