School district investigating video of fights in baseball changing room

As reported by CBS Los Angeles, the Victor Valley (Victorville, Calif.) Union High School District is investigating an incident involving Victor Valley baseball players staging boxing matches in the team changing room.

Cellphone video that CBS Los Angeles received from an unidentified parent shows students brawling with boxing gloves and without protective headgear. The parent told the station that coaches have long supported the behavior as a means for players to resolve their differences.

Victor Valley principal Chris Douglass told CBS that the fighting happened on one day and that coaches were never involved. The video appears to show the same players wearing different clothing, which would suggest that the fights were not a one-time affair.
