New Rochelle's amazing buzzer-beater recalls Morris Peterson's improbable shot

After I watched the insane final 2.9 seconds of New Rochelle's improbable 61-60 win over Mount Vernon in the New York Section 1 Class AA final, I immediately thought, "NO! NOT POSSIBLE!" and "Wait, I've seen this before."

In some sort of crazy dream, perhaps? No -- in a meaningless NBA regular season game six years ago

After Gilbert Arenas gave the Washington Wizards a 109-106 lead over the Toronto Raptors with 3.8 seconds left, Toronto's Anthony Parker's full-court inbounds pass was intercepted by Michael Ruffin. Ruffin heaved the ball toward the rafters, hoping the clock would run out while the ball was in the air, but it didn't. The ball landed in the hands of Morris Peterson, who made a game-tying 3-pointer as time expired. (The Wizards would lose in overtime.)

Wizards broadcaster Steve Buckhantz, who made a hilarious call at the end of a game last week, couldn't believe his eyes. "No! Not possible!" he screamed.
