Mark Fossati didn’t need to take his helmet off for long Saturday. The St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, N.J.) junior running back and linebacker returned a fumble 63 yards for a touchdown, ran for 96 yards and two touchdowns, caught a touchdown pass, made nine tackles and kicked six extra points in a 42-7 playoff defeat of Red Bank (N.J.) Catholic.

St. Joseph Regional coach Tony Karcich said that Fossati has made a habit of making big plays.

"I've had great players, Division I guys, but I don't remember a kid who makes these types of plays game after game," Karcich said.

Karchich said Fossati has made the tackle on kickoffs 13 times this season, despite being the player kicking off. However, his biggest play came in a Thanksgiving defeat of Don Bosco Prep (Ramsey, N.J.), when Fossati stopped a potential first down by Don Bosco quarterback Joe Germano, stripped him of the ball and ran 80-yards the other way for a touchdown.

For his effort, Fossati leads the American Family Insurance ALL-USA Performances of the Week. The rest of the top performances:
