Eight of the nation's top 3-point shooters will gather at Greater Atlanta Christian School on Saturday for the third American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships. The event will be broadcast at 2 p.m. ET on CBS. Here's a closer look at this year's field of long-range bombers.
Bryce Alford, La Cueva (Albuquerque, N.M.)
The Scoop: Alford, who set the state single-season scoring record with 1,050 points as a senior, will follow his dad, Steve Alford, to UCLA.
Conner Frankamp, North (Wichita, Kan.)
The Scoop: The future Jayhawk led North to a 20-3 record this season.
Brannen Greene, Tift County (Tifton, Ga.)
The Scoop: Greene averaged 27.0 points, seven rebounds and five assists as a senior.
Zak Irvin, Hamilton Southeastern (Fishers, Ind.)
The Scoop: Irvin was named Indiana's Mr. Basketball after averaging nearly 19 points per game.
Nick King, Memphis East (Tenn.)
The Scoop: King averaged 24.4 points, 15.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 2.3 blocks per game. He shot 62 percent from the floor.
Race Parsons, South Sevier (Monroe, Utah)
College: Southern Utah
The Scoop: Parsons qualified by virtue of winning the fan vote on Facebook. Don't bet against him winning the whole thing.
Matt Thomas, Onalaska (Wis.)
College: Iowa State
The Scoop: One of the top shooters in the country, Thomas wants the ball when the game is on the line.
Derrick Walton Jr., Chandler Park Academy (Harper Woods, Mich.)
The Scoop: Walton after 26 points, 10.2 asssists and 8 rebounds per game.
