Opponents have been giving chase to North Central (Farmersburg, Ind.) fullback Chase VanSchoyck, but they haven't been catching him much this season.
VanSchoyck ran for 417 yards and 10 touchdowns in a 93-20 defeat of Riverton Parke (Montezuma), just a week after breaking his own state record with 567 yards in a 71-50 defeat of Eastern Green (Bloomfield).
North Central didn't do anything fancy to hide the 6-1, 230-pound senior. Time after time, he turned a simple fullback dive into long gains for the Class A Thunderbirds.
"He runs a 4.59 40-yard dash and is a beast in the weight room," said North Central athletics director Ryan Kamman. "We're pretty lucky he decided to stay here."
